My wife Shari creates things as much as possible out of orphan yarn, fabric, and thread. She says "I get satisfaction from turning what looks like nothing into something useful, as women have been doing for centuries. I am deeply influenced by my grandmother in many aspects of my life. This work is also a protest against a culture that encourages us to always be busy--usually with stuff that is not very important--and to mindlessly consume."
